Becoming the Capital: Urban Planning of Astana, Capital City of Kazakhstan

摘要: 全面深入地介绍和分析哈萨克斯坦共和国新首都阿斯塔纳的总体规划，包括4方面：一是新首都产生的历史背景和首都总体规划产生的过程，二是首都规划的主要原则和总体布局，三是首都的新建筑和重大建设项目，四是城市应对可持续发展问题的主要对策。

Abstract: The paper is on an in-depeth understanding of urban planning of Astana, the new national capital of Kazakhstan, that was relocated from Almaty to Akmola (later Astana) in 1997. Four major sessions making the full picture on the city planing are: 1) the historial background of the new capital and developing process of its master plan; 2) key principles and overall framework of the master plan proposed by Kisho Kurokawa; 3) new buildings and key development projects in the city and 4) strategies toward sustainable urban growth and development.
